Ingredients
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup warm milk
2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Food coloring
Instructions
1. Activate yeast with warm milk and sugar
2. Mix in egg, butter, and vanilla
3. Add flour and salt to form dough
4. Knead until smooth
5. Let dough rise until doubled
6. Divide and color dough portions
7. Shape into layered or braided loaf
8. Let rise again
9. Bake at 175°C for 25–30 minutes
10. Cool and slice
Notes
Use gel food coloring for best results
Do not over-knead colored dough
Cool completely before slicing
